JOB SUMMARY

At First Baptist Church of Panama City, our mission is to go and make disciples of all nations by evangelizing and teaching people how to become fully mature followers of Jesus Christ.  Each staff position within our church is integral in advancing this mission and making a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve. As a member of our support team, you must demonstrate Christ-like character through kindness, patience, and integrity in all interactions. 

This is a part time (7:30AM – 12:00PM)  position and is responsible for being the first point of contact for members and visitors at First Baptist Church. This role supports the team by managing front office operations and assisting other staff members as well as church members and visitors to the office.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

●High School diploma, prior administrative office experience preferred.

●Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

●Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality.

●Competent computer and phone skills.

● Ability to manage multiple tasks in a professional environment.

● Alignment with the Baptist Faith & Message.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

Requires constant (67%-100%) sitting for long periods of time.  Requires operation of standard office machines, including computers, multi-line telephone and copier. Requires the ability to work in front of computer monitor and operate a keyboard for extended periods of time. Requires (1%-33%) ability to move freely about the church campus.  Requires occasional (1%-25%) bending, reaching, and must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.  Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.  Requires the ability to communicate clearly. 

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Requires contact with the public.  Work is performed indoors in an air conditioned/heated facility.  Occasionally it may be required to attend a function or event as a part of the FBC Staff.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

1. Must be competent in Microsoft (Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher).

2. Must be able to learn ShelbyNext database.

3. Receive incoming calls, direct calls and take clear and detailed messages to distribute to staff members.

4. Receive visitors including church members, people with appointments, general public, and those looking for assistance.

5. Receive orders for CD/DVDs sales and communicate info to Media team.

6. Maintain, copy and distribute weekly prayer guide.

7. Maintain, update and distribute hospital list.

8. Process and distribute incoming mail.

9. Receive packages and notify recipients of their arrival.

10. Maintain office supplies in the workroom, i.e. copy paper, toner, pens, postage meter supplies, etc.

11. Be able to assist members and staff with copy machine and postage meter.

12. Other duties as assigned.
