JOB SUMMARY
At First Baptist Church of Panama City, our mission is to go and make disciples of all nations by evangelizing and teaching people how to become fully mature followers of Jesus Christ. The housekeeper will be responsible for cleaning the various facilities at FBC. This position primarily consists of general housekeeping duties: sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, taking out trash, dusting, and cleaning restrooms. Cleaning and restocking bathrooms and cleaning windows.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Skill in utilizing commercial cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, mops, and various cleaning products. Must possess good interpersonal communication skills. The candidate must possess organizational skills relating to task driven deadlines. Must possess the ability and desire to be proactive in taking initiative to clean, tidy and straighten to give a great first impression for visitors on campus.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
Requires constant (75-100% of the time) standing for long periods of time. Requires constant operation of standard commercial cleaning equipment, and (75-100%) ability to move freely about the campus. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires occasional (75-100%) bending and reaching. Requires the ability to use a ladder occasionally. Requires the ability to communicate clearly and receive assignments.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is generally performed indoors in air conditioned/heated buildings for most of the time. Moving from building to building during all types of weather is necessary. Must be able to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force regularly and lift up to 50 pounds.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
1. Empty trash cans and replace liners.
2. Dust all surfaces including furniture, cabinets, blinds and window ledges.
3. Clean and sanitize drinking fountains.
4. Vacuum all mats, rugs and carpeted areas.
5. Dust mop and wet mop all hard flooring.
6. Clean restrooms, sanitize toilets, clean walls and partitions, clean mirrors, clean and disinfect sinks, mop floors, and restock supplies.
7. Straighten chairs and other furnishings in classrooms as you clean.
8. Clean windows and entry door glass.
9. Keep cart and custodial closet stocked and organized. Reporting any needs to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
10. Other housekeeping duties as required and directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor or the Business Administrator.
