Position Description: Full Time Maintenance Team Member
Reports to: Business Administrator & Maintenance Manager
Position Summary: The Facilities Maintenance position will assist in maintaining all church facilities. Responsibilities include working directly with the Business Administrator, Maintenance Manager, Volunteers, Ministers, and Office Staff in assisting with setup facilities for church events and building operations. The Facilities Maintenance position will accomplish preventative maintenance on all facilities/equipment, perform needed repairs/service, monitor/assist contractors, architects, and volunteers making sure necessary tasks are accomplished.
General Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Work through the Work Order system to perform maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager that may include:
Minor plumbing repairs/maintenance.
Minor electrical repairs/maintenance.
Painting both interior and exterior.
Light carpentry repairs.
Landscaping maintenance/irrigation repairs/tree and shrub trimming.
Set up and break down of rooms as required for church events.
Provide unlocking/locking doors and assistance as church events.
Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
The successful applicant must submit to a criminal history background check and drug screening.
Have the ability to apply training and understanding to carry out instructions given in English; written, oral, or diagram forms.
Commitment to ongoing spiritual and professional growth.
Commitment to supporting mission and vision of First Baptist Church.
Be able to work independently.
Be familiar with maintenance equipment (e.g. power tools, ladders and scaffolding, pressure washers, paint, lawn mowers and lawn maintenance tools, etc.)
Have strong customer service skills and the ability to get along with others.
Be in good physical health (ability to transfer weight up to fifty (50) pounds; ability to climb and work from ladders, ability to stand, walk, sit and stoop, possess hand-eye coordination and arm/hand/finger dexterity. Be able to work from scaffolding or lifts when necessary.
Be cooperative and show respect and courtesy to church staff, church members, and church visitors.
Be punctual, trustworthy, and willing to work.
Be flexible in availability to accommodate the schedule of church activities.
Must maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
Evaluation and Compensation:
The Maintenance Team member works directly with and is accountable to the Business Administrator and receives work direction from the Maintenance Manager. The Maintenance Team member receives an annual performance evaluation. Compensation is reviewed annually.
