POSITION: Assimilation and Membership Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY

At First Baptist Church of Panama City, our mission is to go and make disciples of all nations by evangelizing and teaching people how to become fully mature followers of Jesus Christ. Each staff position within our church is integral to advancing this mission and making a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial part in fostering spiritual growth, enhancing our worship experience, and supporting outreach initiatives.

This position is responsible for assimilating new and old members into community and service at FBCPC. Other requirements include maintaining church membership records and data, contacting members for various events, assisting with baptisms, CARE ministry and other ministry areas as needed.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

The candidate must have a high school diploma, and a general knowledge of office/administrative procedures required. A minimum of one (1) years’ experience working with Microsoft Office Suite is recommended. Experience with Word, Excel, and Publisher is required. Skill in utilizing general office equipment required. Must possess good interpersonal communication skills. The candidate must possess organizational skills relating to task driven deadlines. Due to the nature and location of work, discretion is vital.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

Requires constant (67% - 100% of the time) sitting for long periods of time. Requires constant operation of standard office machines, including computer, digital camera, and video recording equipment. Requires occasional (1% - 33%) ability to move freely about the church campus and offsite events. Requires constant answering/using the telephone. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires occasional (1% - 33%) bending and reaching. Requires occasional (1% - 33%) outside work relating to events. Requires the ability to communicate clearly. Requires the ability to work in front of computer monitor and to operate a keyboard for extended periods of time.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Requires contact with the public. Work is performed indoors in an air conditioned/heated office facility.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT

Must possess working knowledge of office machines and equipment including, but not limited to, calculator, postage machine, fax machine, copier, computer and printer. Must possess ability to use multi-line telephone system.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

1. Input and maintain records for church membership.

2 Gather information of prospects and input/maintain database for follow up.

3. Update member/prospects change of address, when notified.

4. Write/email visitor notes along with church information packet (depends on if SHARE is

meeting.

5. Track the process of new members and make sure they are enrolled in a Connect Class.

6. Send birthday/sympathy cards weekly.

7. Notify appropriate staff of weekly baptisms.

8. Assist with weekly baptisms.

9. Coordinate baptismal committee monthly.

10. Assist with Baptism at the Beach

11. Assemble new member bags.

12. Assist in the planning of New Member Lunch biannually including assembly of packets.

13. Meet/Greet at Sr. Adult Lunch monthly.

14. Order Membership & Guest Registration forms, pens and other supplies as needed.

15. Restock clip boards for Altar Counseling (weekly).

16. Coordinate annual Altar Counseling.

17. Prepare & Restock Counseling Room.

18. Coordinate Altar Counseling schedule.

19. Score any paper based Spiritual Gift Assessments and input that data.

20. Contact those who have completed Spiritual Gift Assessments to discuss ways to serve.

21. Renew Spiritual Gifts Database annually.

22. Prepare Assimilation budget annually.

23. Coordinate with CARE leaders and prepare CARE Summary Report.

24. Update Shelby and CARE notes.

25. Prepare materials needed for weekly CARE meetings (forms, cards, bags).

26. Be the contact for Prayer forms, Know your Gifts, Decision for Christ (Website).

27. Support any upcoming churchwide events.

28. Support VBS/Trunk or Treat (registration and/or counseling).
